during my research for journal two, I looked into the number of people that are incarcerated in america. in a CNN article, and they claimed that there are 7.3 million people in america's prison system. these people are either currently incarcerated in jail or prison, on probation or parol. this is roughly 1 in 32 adults that have been or are in the prison system.
